The rat race

What is rat race?

▪️Rat race is a term often associated with an endless pursuit for wealth, which is infact a pointless ambition. It’s a metaphor for lab rat trying to escape its cage or a maze but ultimately runs round in circles.

If a person rushes around all day, gets stuck in traffic to and from work, whilst at the place of employment is busy all day achieving very little, and better material objects (like cars and houses); then this
person is well and truly stuck in the rat race.

In short, Rat race means when you’re always working enormously all day and night without achieving something good.
